How local is the money behind each candidate?

Most of it is local. For a few, it really isn't. Donor share runs 77% to 16%.

Across the 2026 Torrance city elections, the percentage of donations from local donors varies significantly, from about 77% down to 16%. A candidate who raised more than four out of every five dollars from somewhere other than Torrance is telling.

Out-of-town money isn't unusual in a big national race, but city council seats are different. When a local campaign runs mostly on outside money, it could mean those interests have a particular stake in what city hall decides.
